Top 10 Cult Comedies

The Farrelly brothers could make a sequel to Dumb and Dumber, it has been recently announced.

Bobby Farrelly in an interview with Moviehole said that their 1994 comedy has aged much better than he anticipated, and if Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels were willing to get together again, a sequel would be possible.

"We're starting to think about what those two dimwits would be doing twenty-years later in life," Farrelly said. "Hopefully we'll be able to come up with something worthy of a sequel."

Dumb and Dumber has developed a cult comedy classic status over the years, despite universally bad reviews and initial disinterest upon release. Here's a look at the ten best cult comedies of all time.

Top 10 Cult Comedies

10. Pee Wee's Big Adventure
9. Best In Show
8. Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
7. Billy Madison
6. Clerks
5. Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End)
4. The Evil Dead Trilogy (The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness)
3. Office Space
2. Dumb and Dumber
1. The Big Lebowski

*The list is based on, but not limited to, overall quality of movie, prestige gained, and cult status. It varied based on movie. I understand that Dumb and Dumber and Billy Madison aren't your typically good movies, but they are undeniably hilarious. That's what cult is all about; movies that are typically deemed good, but are well-received by a specific audience.

*Also, cult following was not necessarily a defining aspect. I understand that The Rocky Horror Picture Show has perhaps the largest cult following of all, but i cannot stand it, so it's not on here.

Top 10 Quentin Tarantino Movies

Quentin Tarantino is working on, or may have already completed, a feature length screenplay in the style of a spaghetti western, it has been recently announced.

While details are unconfirmed, the film has been rumored by multiple sources to star Inglourious Basterds Oscar winner Christoph Waltz and legendary Italian actor Franco Nero. With the Sergio Leone-esque rumored title, The Angel, The Bad, and The Wise, the movie is set to begin shooting sometime later this year.

Tarantino has always hinted about doing a spaghetti western, which he has often referenced as one of his favorite types of movies. His new screenplay would add to his resume of films that pay homage and simultaneously transcend forgotten genres.
